Description
Product: Murchunga Size: 15cm Material: Iron Note-G#
The Murchunga is a cultural instrumental musical instrument from Nepal that has been around for centuries. As one of the oldest instruments in the world, it is considered a classic harp of the country and is widely used in Nepali folk music.
Handmade with care, our Murchunga is made of iron and measures 15cm in size. It is easy to play and position correctly in the mouth. Its large slitter allows for low sounds and occasionally guttural sounds, making it a versatile instrument.
In terms of musicology, a jaw harp is a plucked idiophone and bourdon instrument. The better the jaw harp, the more overtones will be heard. The human mouth and throat are used as a resonator. By changing the shape of the mouth or moving the player’s tongue, as well as breathing techniques, different rhythms and melodies can be produced.
At Nepal Music Gallery, we take pride in offering high-quality traditional musical instruments, and our Murchunga is no exception. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And don’t forget to check out our other sound-related items in our shop.
