The Murchunga is a Nepali musical instrument, it is one of the oldest instruments in the world. They are the classic harps of the country and the most extended. The great ductility of the tongue along with the small size of the instrument, allows you to play very fast rhythms while modulating sounds easily with tongue and breath.
It is also easy to touch and it is softer to position it correctly in the mouth. The serious harp of iron is easy to play. Its tongue is very flexible and the large slitter, which allows to make low sounds and occasionally guttural sounds
In terms of musicology, a jaw harp is a plucked idiophone and bourdon instrument. Bourdon means that a ‘buzzing’ fundamental tone will always be heard, which forms the basis for numerous overtones. The better the jaw harp, the more overtones will be heard. The human mouth and throat are used as a resonator. By changing the shape of the mouth or moving the player Tongue, as well as breathing techniques, different rhythms and melodies .
