Description
At Nepal Music Gallery, we are proud to offer the exquisite Karnal trumpet to our customers. This magnificent brass trumpet is over a meter long, with a distinguished bell that resembles a datura (धतूरा) flower. It is traditionally used on ceremonial occasions, particularly during the processions of village deities. Before being played, offerings of flowers, turmeric paste, and rice are made, and prayers are chanted.
During the procession of village deities, the music of Dhols, Nagaras, and Karnals is at its peak, with their beats filling the atmosphere. The sounds of the Karnal can be heard from miles away, acting as a signal to people from other nearby villages of the Devta’s (deity’s) arrival.
Our version of this instrument is played during ceremonial prayers at temples, traditional festivals, and other occasions. Each miniature Karnal is handmade by local craftsmen in Nepal, making every piece unique. These instruments are specially made on order, and the price mentioned is for a single unit/piece only.
Experience the rich culture and tradition of Nepal with the exquisite Karnal trumpet, exclusively available at Nepal Music Gallery.
